Website Server Change Alert

Heart VPS Servers
In order to improve the Website’s speed and reliability, we are planning later this week (w/c 14th November) to transfer it to a new faster WebServer with Heart Internet. Until the change has taken place certain facilities will not be available from the site.
From experience these transfers may take some time and include a strong chance that the site will be offline for up to 48 hours or so. In advance we would wish to offer our apologies for any dislocation this may cause our members and we request your patience whilst this important change takes place

TR3OC AGM – brief report
The club held its 2015 Annual General Meeting, at the Best Western Plus Manor Hotel, Meriden on Sunday 1st November.
The speaker at the Saturday evening dinner was Neil Spalding, MotoGP technical expert and one of the very first TR3OC members. His talk was the absolute highlight of the evening and he held everyone’s close attention as he drew parallels between two key aspects of racing triples design and their modern counterparts in MotoGP. It was also a delight to witness some of our Honorary Members such as Norman Hyde, John Woodward, Bill Fannon and Arthur Jakeman adding their own knowledge and experiences from the days of the Triumph Experimental Department to Neil’s talk.
During the AGM on Sunday, there was lively debate on a number of topics and it was good to see so much positive input coming from the membership. Clive Blake stepped down from the committee as Machine Registrar and Graham Redrup was voted in as his replacement. John Young has given up his role as Archivist and we now have two members volunteering to take on the job between them: David Turner and Dominic Kramer. Thank you to Clive and John for their contribution and also to everyone who attended the meeting. There will be a more complete report in the next edition of Triple Echo.
Tuareg Rallye Trident News
Here is an update from JY
Well, I have some disappointing news.
I have just informed the organisers that Team TR3OC are having to withdraw from this years Tuareg Rally
Over the last couple of days, myself and the other team members have been reviewing just what we still have to do simply to get to the “start line” of the rally but however you look at it, 8 weeks yesterday we need to be in Morocco for signing on and we haven’t as yet (no matter how close it seems) even got a bike that we know works.
Further problems, are that we don’t yet know (1) how it performs off-road and in sand and (2) how to ride it !!
When the fabrication work finished on the IBR bike, I tested, broke, rebuilt, tested, broke again and finally fixed the bike for 3 months before leaving for the USA and that event was, in my opinion, nowhere near the challenge that this one is – and yet I still had unforeseen problems on the rally itself.
At best we all agreed that we could see us having 3 weeks to do the same on the outfit but whereas, I already had huge experience of Long Distance Riding before embarking on the IBR, neither myself nor Pete N have virtually any off road experience. Add to this that many vehicles fail on this rally and those remember are relatively new cars and new bikes – we, on the other hand, are attempting to take it on with a 40 year old outfit.
This is not us giving up. It is simply a postponement so that when in 2016 we finally do make it to the start line of the rally, we will have a machine that the TR3OC can be proud of and one that gives us a real chance of completing the rally
In the meantime this year, once the outfit is finished we fully intend to test it under competitive conditions, so you should still have something to follow.
I’m really sorry that this year there’ll be no Team TR3OC entry in the 2015 Tuareg Rally, but assuming there is a 2016 rally, we will be there and we will be properly prepared.
2015 Tuareg Rallye Trident Wasp
Well Mr John Young and some other foolhardy souls have decided to make some more trident history by entering a T150 engined Wasp MX outfit in the 2015 Tuareg Rallye.
Completing the rally is difficult enough on todays MX/Enduro bikes that weigh about 130kg and have around 30omm of suspension travel. But that would be far to simple for the likes of John et al.
Here is a pic of the outfit in preparation
Nice bit of work on a custom made mainfold to link the SU carb to the 3 pots ( save some time on having to balance 3 carbs LOL)
Now for the exhaust
