“The legend behind (some of ) of the Legends” article in Triple Echo 277 has caused me to think yet again what route my faithful T160 registered in 1976 as MMD570P  took to become a green Legend according to the current DVLA data base?
If anybody knows about MMD570P transition to a Legend, recent history – current whereabouts I’d be fascinated to learn more?
With respect to the bikes early history I owned it from 1976 to 1979 and clocked up ~50k of enjoyable miles using it as my primary long distance means of transport. Most memorable one day ride was in March 1977  from Le Harve docks to Les Arc in the French Alps following a local on a Guzzi for last 30 miles up the Isere Valley with a full moon. Favourite UK ride was A68 through Northumberland / Scottish Boards on regular journeys from London to Edinburgh.

MMD570P never broke down on me to the point of stopping any journey, the nearest it came to doing so was failure of the clutch pull rod in west London but the gear shift was so good I was able to complete the journey to Oxford with clutch less gear changes with only one standing start.
However, the maintenance routine was never ending! I became slick with  Top end  servicing for replacement piston rings, camfollowers, valve guides at ~15k miles.
In 1979 I sold the bike to an Oxfordshire farmhand who gave me an offer I couldn’t resist and subsequently heard that he sold it on fairly quickly to somebody at RAF Abingdon who apparently crashed it. Was this when it became a Legend donor ?

Any information / recent pictures of MMD570P much appreciated.

Photos below are circa Spring 1977.
