I like the heat induced colour on stainless pipes.   My fingers could not maintain the cleanliness.   If you ride at night be prepared for a policeman to question whether you feel safe without winkers.   One chased me a dozen miles at pace to ask that.   Black gloves, the average numbskull, one can see why he asked.   If you do you shame the trailer brigade.   Best regards.

              Hi James

I have fitted LED indicators,   they are quite discreet and difficult to see in the low resolution photograph.  However  when the ignition is turned on the front’s  illuminate  as a white daytime riding light switching to a flowing amber when the indicators are in uses: The rear’s function as flashing brake lights turning to a solid read lights under prolonged braking  switching  to flowing amber indicators when activated.  Cheap as chips on E-bay  I should mention that I have rewired the bike negative earth.

                        Hi Martin

Yes a BigD  motor 71mm bore with forged Arias pistons and 82 mm stroke ,  I am sure  it would have been wonderful thing when BigD completed the job!  However time and previous owners had not been kind to the bike: From cold it showed 100 psi oil pressure dropping as the the bike warmed to 60 psi above 2,500 rpm I had hoped that ridden carefully it would get me through the 2020 riding season, but it was not to be,  on my second day of shake down tests (29/12/19)  I felt the motor tighten I grabbed the clutch and coasted to a stop, this was not going to be a roadside fix .   Once back home I stripped the engine it was not a pretty in there just about everything needed tlc   from the top down , Tappet adjusters lash caps, valves and guides, barrel and pistons,

Megacycle camshafts and followers rubbed out, the big end journals were tired though the shells were still grey the centre mains were toast the outer races were in fair condition.   I am sure folks can make an educated estimate of the spare parts bill to rebuild the suck squeeze bang blow section of the engine.

I have purchased a new  barrel and pistons from Nova classics, new standard cams from Newman cams, GS valves,  Coilsbro guides and all of the other bits and bobs required to build a fresh motor .  last year prior to the seizure I had replaced several gears and bearings , clutch plate and spring I serviced the oil pump and fitted the Australian primary drive conversion and a new Boyer ignition system and a Madigan starter motor.  I am pretty much done with cleaning of old gaskets and sealant rodding out oil ways  I have removed the 5/16″ oil feed tube bored and reamed the cases to 10.03mm turned up a stepped feed pipe to 3/8″ and opened up the oil ways and the back of the pump to match I have the fitted a new 3/8 outlet strainer in my cleaned out oil tank (cooler also cleaned through) Hoping the cams will arrive next week then the rebuild begins.

                        Best regards

Hope you get the cams in time for Beezumph!

As this years Beezumph theme is going to be prototypes, you could argue that this was an American version(Jack Wilsons) of where the T160 may have ended up as.

Hope you can get it to Snetterton.

Hi Katherine, love your trident, great job. Just one question, quite happy to be shot down in flames if I’ve got it wrong!!. Is the back brake light all one unit including flashers, I just thought U.K. laws the indicators have to be totally separate from the brake light, i had a bit of trouble with an American import once in the mot department with the indicators, happy to be corrected 😊. Keep safe and happy riding. Mark😁🏍

                                Hi Mark

I hope this forum is moving on from shooting folks down in flames ;0)

I am using a standard back light,   I am not using the standard indicators I have fitted dual function indicators see the link below.  I made adaptors to extend the stems for front fitment and added an extra nut to secure them to the grab rail.  While they may not be everybody’s cup of tea they work for me.

Those indicators look amazing value for money. I take it no flasher relay is needed, just a permanent 12v from a turn signal switch? Also I guess they don’t care what ground polarity is used as the are plastic?

Looking at the pictures on ebay there appears to be only 2 wires to each unit. If one is brake and the other indicator it must earth through the frame in which case they would be polarity sensitive.

On the other hand my knowledge of modern electronics is limited to say the least.

Strangely I think I actually like them but will reserve judgement until seen in the flesh.
