        Hi,

I went for a ride today and on a couple of occasions the bike would not go into second but instead went into neutral and green light came on. Pulled up on gear change a bit harder and it went in and bike drove O.K On arrival home I could not find neutral no matter how hard I tried and bike is currently in gear. Any ideas please,

        Kindest regards,

            Hi Michael

on my T160 I have had neutral selection issues in the past, occasionally finding neutral when changing 1st to 2nd but regularly finding neutral selection difficult at standstill after the bike had warmed up. When cold and until warm no problem. I adjusted the clutch to death but no improvement, I tried using different gearbox oils, no change. The game changer was using a ball ended index plunger, both these issues went away.

              Hi Micheal,

Andrew suggests a reasonable solution but check your clutch adjustment first.

Sounds like your clutch might not be fully engaging when you’re pulling in the lever.

Chapter 2 of the technical service notes on this site is a very good description of the clutch and its adjustment.

                  Hi,

Another thing that can affect this is the neutral light switch adjustment. If it isn’t right all sorts of difficulties can occur.
