Scottish Borders Weekend

June 19, 2020 – June 21, 2020 all-day
Glentress Hotel

As advertised in the recent Triple Echo, the TWATS (Tyne, Wear and Tees Section) and the NOBS (North Of the Border Section) jointly invite you to the 4th Scottish Borders Weekend.

Based at the Glentress Hotel outside Peebles, we’ll be enjoying rides through the glorious scenery of the Borders on the longest days of the year, on quiet roads with their sweeping bends that are so suited to our triples.

The Glentress Hotel has been sold since our last visit and the building partially refurbished. Accommodation rates have increased but a discount has been negotiated. Please book rooms directly with the hotel and confirm TR3OC when booking.

Depending on numbers they may offer a welcome drink or coffee/cake, etc, for the Friday and something similar (G&T/beer/glass of wine) for the Saturday. The bar is licenced until midnight.

There are limited rooms available but should numbers exceed availability, or anyone simply prefer to make their own arrangements, other accommodation is available in the area, either B&Bs in Peebles or the much closer lodges.

Friday evening we’ll be riding the bikes to Biggar for a chippy tea in a fish and chip shop restaurant before returning to the hotel for a wee swally. Saturday’s ride out will be to places of interest in the Borders, with no admission charges. Lunch at a café on the way.

Anyone is welcome to join us for any part of the weekend if they cannot manage the whole event, but whether you’re attending the whole weekend or just a part, please confirm to me so I can negotiate complimentary drinks and we don’t miss anyone joining us for the ride out only. This also applies to anyone choosing alternative accommodation, especially if they want to join us for the meal.

The TWATS and the NOBS look forward to welcoming you to this annual TR3OC event.
