    Hi all

I am at the point of replacing the carbs on my T160!

So my question is has anyone had any experience of the Amal replacements produced by Wassell? I have friends (yes I know that’s unbelievable!) who have used them on other Brit classics and rate them, just wondering if anyone has tried them on a triple?

Either get them resleaved or find some good ones, I have not had much joy with any wassel or LF Harris stuff, I bought 2 new push rods off LF Harris and the ends came off after 1200 miles

Alastair, I agree with Keith have your original carbs re sleeved. Bill Harley does them 07979367527 and will offer the modification to have a removable pilot jet as per the premium carbs from Burlen fuels. As for wassel I purchased two concentric for my BSA Spitfire and after 3 months they distorted in the main body causing the slide to stick open- not good. I had the originals re sleeved.

Thank you for the advice guys, looks like I’ll be taking the re sleeving option.Im glad I asked the question you’ve probably saved me lots of heartache.

Does anyone know where Bill is located and approximate costs?

A bit late I’m afraid (1st time on the website!) but – our own Richard Darby (3D Motorcycles) did mine for me a few years ago. It completely transformed the smoothness of the motor and the mpg improved from an average of 42mpg to 53mpg!
