New member here just wanting to say hi and make a brief  introduction. My name is Trevor and I live in the north east of England in the Teesside area. I started riding in 1974 and have done so consistently since. My interests lie in what I consider to be iconic bikes of the seventies and I own a few bikes including a z1a and a commando. Of course my latest acquisition is a machine I have always admired – a t160. I feel really excited about having one and intend to get plenty of miles on it as I do with all my bikes. I’m not really bothered about ‘ mint’ bikes but like them tidy, reliable and as original as I can get them. Ok, as a newbie looking in on the forum what do I think? Well it appears that I have joined in a period where the forum is in a state of flux and unsure as how to develop. Personally I will not be using Facebook for personal reasons but having said that it appears much more vibrant than the  forum. If I am to be honest I find the tr3oc   a bit disappointing in terms of postings and ease of navigation. I do understand the issues between the two types of  forum but think it could be improved by making sub categories as in the way Martin Rawson suggested in a previous posting. You only need to to look at other forums eg access Norton, the Kettleclub, Suzuki gs resources etc . Not everyone knows these bikes as well as those that have owned them for years and whilst good information and guidance can be found via searches and technical notes some of the information is now quite old and it can be difficult to sift through the advice to get to the best practices and current thinking.Anyway really pleased to be part of the tr30c community and the members I have met seem good guys. I will be making postings asking about things like the inside of  a fart of a grub screw  – hope that’s ok!

      Hi Trevor,

None of it is as bad as it reads!

It’s a bit of a lonely place at the moment, hopefully the new leaders will see the light.

Must have had this all your life, Maclean and Philby, let’s get that out of the way.

      Ask away,

      Cheers

      Andy.

      That’s good news,

Enjoy your new purchase, won’t be long now till the sun shines, maybe with new owners we can sort some new runs out.

      Look forwards to that.

Welcome Trevor. You’re lucky to live in an area where there’s a keen local group in the shape of the TWATS (Tyne, Wear and Tees Section. As well as their monthly meetings, they usually have a good presence at the Scottish Borders weekend in June and the Lake District in September (among other events) if you want to consider joining them for the journeys. I agree with your comments about this forum and FaceBook. I remember when I joined I wondered why things were so quiet here and then discovered many more members were on FaceBook.
